Lotus Electrical Services Approved as installer for low emission charging points

Lotus Electrical Services Ltd has been approved as a smart chargepoint installer for electric vehicles by the Office of Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV).

Businesses don’t grow by standing still - keeping up with advances in technology in an ever-changing landscape is tough, but this is where Lotus Electrical have excelled. Celebrating their twentieth year of trading this month - company founder Greg Hutchings started Lotus Electrical in 1999. The business has grown from a one man operation to a company with more than thirty staff offering innovative services and products from solar carports to high voltage networks for the commercial sectors.

Greg is delighted that Lotus is now an approved electric vehicle chargepoint installer, and the team have already bid for their first installation in Dumfries and Galloway.

“We’re celebrating twenty years in business this year, so this latest addition to our offering has come at a great time for us.  Over the years we’ve always sought opportunities to expand our services to the domestic and commercial markets”

Homeowners in Scotland can also get help with home chargepoint installation costs:

“Demand for home chargepoints will only increase as people realise the benefits of electric vehicles - in both financial and environmental terms. The government recognises this by offering grants of up to £500  to encourage wider use of electric and hybrid cars under the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS). We’re also in the process of applying for the Energy Saving Trust registration which will allow homeowners to access an additional £300 towards the cost of installation of a range of manufacturers’ chargepoints”
