Renewable Energy

Wind Farm

The UK is signatory to the European Union's renewable energy policy to source at least 20% of the EU's energy needs from renewable sources such as biomass, hydro, wind and solar power by 2020. Scotland plans to make a significant contribution towards this target by aiming to produce 80% of Scottish energy from renewable sources by 2020. This will be hugely beneficial not only in environmental terms but also to fill a potential shortfall in energy resources since many of the UK's nuclear and power stations will be decommissioned by 2030.

Lotus Electrical Services Ltd has extensive experience of many renewable energy systems and is an MCS accredited solar photovoltaic panel installer. Since 2007 we have worked for clients in the UK and Germany on a number of large wind farm projects, including Fairburn, Achany and Dalswinton. We have also been the primary electrical contractor on the Galloway Hydro scheme since 2008, involved in major upgrading works to this 114 MW system.
